Subdivision Tradeshow 2005
Johnson City, NY, May 12-15.

For the last couple of years the Subdivision Tradeshow has been a showcase for BMX companies large and small. The show gives those companies dedicated to BMX an opportunity to meet with each other, dealers, and their customers. The tradeshow is also held the same weekend and in the same building as the Last Call Contest at East Coast Terminal Skatepark, which allows companies to get to the heart of BMX; the people who ride.
Jim, Brett, Shannon, nor myself had been to the tradeshow before so we were all excited to go.

Brett and I were packed in the backseat like sardines, but thankfully we only had to sleep in the car the first night.

Binghamton, NY: home of the square deal. I'm not sure what that means, but FBM is located just down the street from here. Binghamton is an odd city.

This spot is just down the street from ECT. I'm sure you've seen it before in videos. Brett Peltier, fufanu.

Jim Baaske pedal stalling one of the few street spots we found and sessioned.

What's left of the bowl from the last Ghetto Comp.

The Shook booth ruled. It was set up like a mini theater complete with a candy counter and curtains. People could buy cans of soda and candy while they watched all the Shook videos.

Shannon Thomas takin' care of business at the Felony and Extent booth.

We made numerous trips to the bank to log throughout the weekend. It was probably the best and closest spot we found. Brett jumped the log and nosedived so much he nose manualed all the way down the bank.

Jim tried this wall tap a few times but couldn't quite make it back into the bank.

That's Brett on the left and Tony and Ashley of Free Delivery Clothing on the right. They are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. So nice they let us crash their hotel each night.

Fly had a pretty sweet booth as well.

Each part on display had cartoon characters hand drawn to point out the details. Fly's new bar ends.

It took them forever to draw in all of the cartoons, but it really added to the booth. Check flybikesbmx.com for more pictures.

I told you we went back to this bank a lot. Shanton Wilson is over his broken leg and is starting to ride again. Icepick over.

Jim and Brett modeling the new Felony shirt and hoodie designs.

If you like riding banks Binghamton's got 'em. Toothpick from yours truly.

Shannon pullin' a crooked stall to fakie.

FreeDeliveryClothing.com, look 'em up. They've got good designs.

Brett manualling the back of a bench.

Some of the ghetto ramps were still up and rideable and were ridden a lot over the weekend. Brett Peltier.

Brett wallriding out of the ghetto quarter.

Brett and Jim at a gas station probably about 30 minutes from Woodward.

Shannon drove the entire trip and paid for all of the gas! Thanks Shannon!

We got back really late, but the portable DVD player kept us entertained. Jim picked up a copy of the Empire DVD at the tradeshow and we watched it a couple of times on the drive back b/c it's so good.

I think I can speak for the rest of the guys and say that the Subdivision trip was a good time. It was good to see and meet people. It was good to see what new stuff companies are working on. And it was good hanging out and riding with friends all weekend.
Thanks to everyone at Last Call and FBM that helped put together and awesome weekend. Thanks to Tony and Ashley of Free Delivery for ruling in every single way. Thanks to Shannon and Felony for taking me along. And thanks to friends and everyone who make BMX fun. If you ever get a chance to go to Subdivision you'll do it if you know whats good for you!
